The simplest way to get started in home
automation. |

Simply connect the Relay-Bee to any free
USB port to give immediate access to 7 sets of SPDT (changeover) relay
outputs plus
an additional 7 DC switches.
The relay outputs are rated at 250vAC/110vDC Maximum Voltage
and 6A Maximum current. All three contacts for each relay are accessible
via screw terminals and there are on-board LED's to indicate the on/off
status of each relay.

Supplied with the Relay-BEE is BeeStep14 control software.
This is a full editing suite for creating your own switch sequencer
programs. Simply enter your pattern of On/Offs and the duration of
each step for up to 10,000 steps followed by RUN to watch your
connected devices respond according to your programmed sequence. No
computer programming knowledge is required.
Relay-BEE is designed to be simple to use even
for the complete beginner with full instructions on how to connect devices
and create your switch sequences. A standard USB lead (not included) is
needed to connect the Relay-BEE to your computer .
For the more advanced user who wants to write his own programs for
the RelayBee a DLL is provided, greatly simplifying the process. This DLL
allows user programs written in a wide range of languages (eg C, C++ ,
Visual Basic etc...), to have easy access to it's facilities. This gives
the programmer simple to use functions like InitMbee() and
SetOutputs(outputs) rather than having to address the tricky USB comms
protocols. The application software and DLL for the Relay Bee are
identical to that used in the MiniBee. This means that for current users
of the MiniBee their programs are code compatible with the relay bee,
offering an easy upgrade path for those requiring greater power handling
capability and/or isolation. For more information on writing visual basic
programs for Relay-Bee see the programming page for the MiniBee which is

WARNING:
The Relay-Bee adaptor board is fitted with relays that are capable of
switching high voltages and high currents. Use of the Relay-Bee in any
intended application needs careful design paying particular attention to
the safety aspects including a suitable enclosure. i.e. if used for high
voltages, it should not be used simply as supplied. No provisions have
been made to safeguard the potentially dangerous exposed relay terminals
on the board or the board tracks connecting them. If you intend to switch
high voltages or currents in your application then you need to address
this issue. If you have any doubts about how to use the board safely then
you should consult a qualified electrician. |
