The Sound Detector is a very convenient way of detecting sound / noise within your control and automation system. It offers a sensitive microphone and amplifier combination which can be set at a sensitivity level to suit your application. The output from the device is simple binary. i.e. when the sound/noise is above the set threshold the output goes low (0v) and conversely when noise below threshold the output is at logic '1' (+5v). This is very often used in control systems where a simple clap of the hands or vocal command can be used to activate devices. An on-board LED also lights to indicate when the sound is above threshold.
